Food Program

Manufactured Food Permit Application

A manufactured food permit is required when a food for human consumption is produced for sale or distribution to other business entities.  For example, if you plan to produce a salsa product and sell or distribute it to grocery stores or restaurants, a manufactured food permit is required.  If you currently have a permit to operate a restaurant and plan to begin selling or distributing a product to other business entities, an additional manufactured food permit is required.

When you have completed the application package, please contact the Food Program for submission instructions.  Applications must be complete.  Incomplete applications will not be acted on by Food Program staff.

Once received, the application will be evaluated for completeness. If the application is not complete, it’ll be returned to you to complete.  If the application is complete, it will be routed to a manufactured food specialist for review.  Once the review is complete, you will receive an email or phone call requesting further information or notifying you the application has been accepted.  After an application is accepted, a manufactured food specialist will schedule an opening inspection*, collect the permit fee, and approve the facility to open.
