Biennial Hazardous Waste Reporting

The 2019 Biennial Report cycle is open!

  • Industry can begin creating GM, WR and OI forms.
  • All form structure modifications for the 2019 specifications are live.
  • Industry doing data entry for 2019 will see multiple new warnings and cross-checks to improve data quality on submissions. A new acute flag was added to the waste code lookup table to drive some of these new business rules.
  • Industry cannot create their Site ID and submit, and Implementers cannot begin accepting/processing submissions until January 2, 2020.

In accordance with 40 CFR 262.41, 264.75, 265.75 & 270.30(l)(9), the New Mexico Environment Department Hazardous Waste Bureau is requesting data information from all Large Quantity Generators (LQG) and Treatment, Storage or Disposal Facilities (TSDF) for the 2019 EPA Biennial Hazardous Waste Report.

The report is due to the New Mexico Environment Department Hazardous Waste Bureau by March 1, 2020.

***Please note that New Mexico adopted Subpart K and the Hazardous Secondary Material rules December 2018– Form OI is now required by the State of New Mexico***

Beginning January 1, 2018, the New Mexico Environment Department Hazardous Waste Bureau (NMED) opted to use the Biennial Report application being developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. All Large Quantity Generators (LQGs) and Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs) in New Mexico are required to submit their Biennial Report using this system.
